Downtown BIAs cautiously optimistic about new sports arena at LeBreton Flats

Downtown BIA Welcomes LeBreton Flats Arena Announcement

The National Capital Commission announced the sale of 11 acres at LeBreton Flats to Capital Sports Development, paving the way for a new Ottawa Senators arena and entertainment district. 

Downtown BIA Executive Director Kevin McHale called the project “a real beautiful anchor” for the area, saying it will be a major investment in downtown’s revitalization. He emphasized the arena’s potential to boost businesses across downtown, Little Italy, and Chinatown, alongside new housing and amenities planned for the site.
