Downtown BIA 2025 Annual General Meeting

9 mars 2026

8:30am - 9:30am

MD DTBIA 9190

As we settle into the early months of the year, we do so with renewed focus, energy, and optimism for Downtown Ottawa. With increased tourism anticipated for the city’s 200th birthday and government and remote workers returning, we look forward to welcoming them back and the vitality they bring to our streets, shops, services and restaurants.

Downtown Ottawa is the heart of our city, where businesses, culture, and community intersect. As we look ahead, it’s clear that strong communication and collective advocacy are essential to building a more vibrant, resilient downtown.

When we listen to our members, engage openly with our partners, and speak with a unified voice, we can address challenges and unlock opportunities that benefit the entire community. In the year ahead, the Board and team will focus on the following key priorities:

  • Driving Foot Traffic and Downtown Activity To The Core 7 Days a Week

  • Attracting New Businesses to Downtown Ottawa, Through Our Lease and Support Program

  • Advocating For Increased Parking & Safe Drop Off Zones

  • Ongoing Advocacy On Homelessness & Mental Health Challenges To Keep Our Area Safe & Secure

  • Increased Communication & Outreach With New & Existing BIA Members

The Downtown BIA Annual General Meeting (AGM) marks an exciting milestone as we host our first AGM within our newly expanded boundary. This moment reflects the continued growth of our organization and the strength of our downtown business community.

During the virtual AGM, we will review our 2025 performance, achievements, and key successes; share highlights from across our expanded boundary; discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead in 2026; and outline our priorities as we continue working to strengthen and support downtown businesses.
